Hello there!
Just wanted to share some info about us and about this blog ‘The Luxury Travelers’ 🙂
We are Alina and Michael, we met 15 years ago and we’ve just celebrated our 11th anniversary. Since we met, traveling was and still is our TRUE PASSION! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we are both Sagittarius. After traveling to more than 30 countries around the world we’ve decided it’s time to give back and share out insights.
Well, I’m actually Dr. Alina Kaplanov, since I’m a small animal veterinarian, which is my day job. Besides that, I paint realistic wildlife oil paintings and love photography, and I’m selling my art on Etsy. But all of that is not important since we are here to talk about traveling the world!
Traveling was like a breath of fresh air during my years of studying veterinary medicine and later working in this hard demanding profession. Having a trip planned ahead was always something to look forward to. As we finished one, the planning of the next one began.Â

Let’s talk LUXURY! This is the name of this blog and not for nothing. We believe that this NEEDS to be the general vibe of each trip. In our opinion, the hotels we stay in during our vacation are not just a place to sleep at night, they dictate the whole experience of the trip and play a huge role in making our vacation memorable! Also, there is the importance of car rental and fine dining but to a lesser extent than hotels. However, there is a big BUT! Luxury comes with a price! We don’t consider ourselves rich whatsoever but we value the importance of luxury travel for us and try to find hotels, cars and restaurants that suit us best.
In general, we are very thorough in our travel planning, we love to plan extensively, thinking about every detail, (some say a bit overplanning and crazy 😊) but that’s just the way we are and I personally think it’s the best way. Of course, sometimes there are unexpected surprises or different experiences than we’ve planned and we think, oh I wish someone had told us this before. Having those insights after the trip might help other people. Hence this ‘The Luxury Travelers’ blog! We are trying to sum everything down to the last detail of each itinerary to help you plan the best trip!
